Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 17 October 2026
We want Shalom to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA as applied to mobile apps, in the spirit of Israeli Standard SI 5568 and the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations.
What the App supports
- VoiceOver: buttons, icons, ratings and images have spoken labels.
- Dynamic Type: text follows your iOS text size setting.
- Right-to-left and left-to-right: full Hebrew (RTL) and English (LTR) layouts, with user content aligned by its language.
- Contrast: colors are chosen for readable contrast on light backgrounds.
- Touch targets: primary controls are at least 44 by 44 points.
- Reduce Motion: the App uses only light animations and respects system settings.
- No time limits: no feature requires you to act within a time limit.
Known limitations
- Map views rely on Apple Maps accessibility; pins are also available as a list.
- Photos uploaded by users may not include descriptions.
- Content written by users or third parties may not meet accessibility standards.
