Disclaimers
Effective date: 17 October 2026
Please read these disclaimers carefully. They form part of the Terms of Use.
Kashrut
Shalom is not a kashrut authority and does not certify any business. Kashrut details shown in the App come from public sources, users and business managers and may be incomplete, outdated or wrong. Certifications can change or be revoked at any time. Always check the valid kashrut certificate on site and follow the guidance of your rabbi. A "Kosher" badge or a certifier's name in the App is not a guarantee.
Halachic times and calendar
Shabbat, holiday, candle lighting, Havdalah and prayer times (zmanim) are calculated by a third party (HebCal) from your location and standard opinions. Local customs and rabbinic opinions differ, and calculations depend on correct location, time zone and device settings. Consult your local rabbi or community calendar for practical decisions. Reminders may be delayed or not delivered.
Place information
Places are compiled from public sources, contributed by users or managed by verified managers. Addresses, opening hours, phone numbers and services may be wrong or out of date. Some communities share their address only on request for security reasons; respect that and contact them before visiting. A "Verified" badge means only that we reviewed documents from the claimant at a point in time.
Meeting people, minyanim, meals and events
Users and events are not vetted by us. When you meet anyone through the App:
- Meet in public places where possible and tell someone where you are going.
- Do not share financial information and never send money to people you met in the App.
- Trust your instincts and leave any situation that feels unsafe.
- Report suspicious behavior in the App and contact local authorities in an emergency.
You attend any minyan, meal, event or place at your own risk.
Security and sensitive locations
Jewish institutions may be targets of hostility. Do not share security procedures, private addresses or details about vulnerable people. Report any content that could endanger a community.
No professional advice
Content in the App, including posts, comments and classes, is for general information only and is not legal, medical, financial or rabbinic advice.
Third parties and external links
Maps, phone numbers, websites and other third-party services are provided by others. We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
Emergencies
The App is not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.
